Iridescence of Being: “Write to me sometime soon. All my poems, all my letters, they’re all for you.”
Iridescence of Being: An Iridescent Soul Lives Within
From Me to Me
I hope you’re braver, much braver. The kind of bravery that I wanted to have, maybe even beyond that. I hope you’re kind, much kinder. The kind of kindness I wanted to have, maybe even beyond that. I hope you’re honest, much more honest. To yourself most of all. The kind of honesty I wanted to have, maybe even beyond that.
Write to me sometime soon. All my poems, all my letters, they’re all for you.
To catch the sun with your bare hands and hold it softly, waiting until it seeps into your skin. The brightest star on your lips, illuminating the words you’ve longed to say to yourself. How bright is your being? You don’t quite know how the moon looks at you in awe, how the moon keeps your spirit in its sleep, how the moon owes its light to you. You don’t quite know the shine you give to the world, the shine you give to yourself. Never are you aware of it? Never are you aware of the beauty you possess? Never are you aware of yourself?
And when the world reveals itself to you, eye everything from the sky to the smallest blade of grass. To fingernails and hands, to fangs peeking and hearts seeking. From the skyline to the sunsets shining on the surface of the sea. You will find traces of poetry written by the Earth and every being in it.
Who Will I Be Today?
And in this fairy tale that isn’t really a fairy tale
I am the damsel
I am the dragon
and I am the knight
Little Flame, Little Flame
Little flame, don’t despair.
Little flame, don’t pull yourself down.
Little flame, smile for me again.
shine for me again.
Love and Kindness
Wearing love on my sleeves, and kindness as my battle paint, I shall create little earthquakes high above this world that the stars wouldn’t remember their once pristine positions and the sun will start to fall and rise from all these different directions. Love and kindness, always.
Light and Dark
Hurry towards the light
Peer into the dark
For without the other, neither of the two shall exist
The dark is meaningless without the light
The light is meaningless without the dark
Promises to Myself
I have promised to myself that I intend to keep, so hush now, let me sleep. Tomorrow is a day I wouldn’t want to keep waiting for me. Hush now, let me dream. I know there are stories you want me to tell you and I know you want to tell me your stories too.
Hush now, let me dream. I know there are stories you want me to tell you and I know you want to tell me your stories too.
But tomorrow shall be the birth of you. The birth of you. Your dawn. Your rise above it all.
I shall breathe life into you.
No, don’t go away. Tomorrow, can’t you wait? Please wait. Please wait. Please.
“I go by many names.
In this tiny planet which I have built for myself, I have named myself Rhiannon.
In a planet close by, which my lover and I call our Home, I am Valerie.
And on this planet, of whose air I am breathing, and whose land my feet touch every so often, I was given the name Katrina Alyssa Torrefranca.
Many names. But I am still I.”
